Rev EJ Kemper III

EJ Kemper III was born to a teacher and a preacher in Fort Polk, Louisiana. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, a graduate of GMOR Theological Institute. He served as youth pastor at First Community Baptist Church of Lake Charles, LA for 12 years. In 2014, EJ traveled as a missionary to Haiti, where he helped a team of missionaries build an elderly home.  He is a former board member of the SWLA Sickle Cell Anemia foundation. He has written numerous columns in Christian magazines, authored eight books and hosted his own radio broadcast. 

 

In 2016, Pastor E became the pastor of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church,  God gave him a vision and the church adopted it as its mission. UPREACH. INREACH. OUTREACH.  Under Pastor Kemper's leadership there has been great growth in membership, facilities and community outreach.  Pastor Kemper is a 2021 recipient of the Emerging Leaders Scholarship from The College Of Biblical Studies where he is continuing his education in Organizational Leadership and Biblical Counseling.

 

Pastor Kemper has two children and one grandchild. Ellis James Kemper IV (Ellis James Kemper V) and Eyana Janae Kemper.
